About Lena Harris

Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio with extensive work in crisis mental health. Earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Duquesne University and a masters of education and clinical mental health licensure from Cleveland State University. Currently working as the Athletics Counselor at Cleveland State University providing individual counseling to CSU student-athletes; consultation with coaches & teams on mental wellness; and outreach & education on mental health topics. Clinical Athlete Advocate with Play Gap working to support and enhance the mental health of athletes by developing strategies to help them grow and adapt to life’s ups and downs, transitioning into new phases of life. A member of the Alliance of Social Workers in Sports (ASWIS). Previously worked through the National Football Foundation’s Play It Smart Program as an Academic Coach for ‘at-risk’ high school student-athletes, monitoring their academic progress, providing them with guidance and career counseling.
