About Lenore Perkins

I am a highly motivated and adaptable Geologist (PG, Tx) that has worked offshore in the marine energy industry since 2021. I have participated on oil and gas projects that involve the integration of geophysical, geological, and geotechnical data to evaluate marine geohazards to summarize seafloor and subseafloor conditions for site characterization studies, and pipeline planning. A few of my project areas include the Gulf of Mexico (U.S.), offshore Atlantic (West Africa), and offshore Caribbean coast (Suriname). I have experience interpreting and analyzing side scan sonar subbottom profiler (SBP), multibeam bathymetry and backscatter (MBES), and magnetometer data with various software packages. I have a keen eye for detail and can produce high-quality field reports combining geophysical, geological, and geotechnical data to develop a detailed understanding of site conditions. I’m a confident communicator who effectively collaborates with colleagues (onshore and offshore), and management to complete all work and tasks in a timely manner, while maintaining a positive attitude. I am resourceful, detail-driven, and equally comfortable working in the field or in a department. My academic background includes a BSc in Marine Sciences, BSc in Geology (concentration in Geophysics) with a double minor in Physics & Mathematics, and a MSc in Geology with a minor in Geospatial Sciences. In addition to my Master's Thesis, I have 3 publications that I have authored (1) and co-authored (2) ranging in topic from karst geohazards to seismic studies of the Cascadia Margin off the coast of Oregon.
