About Leo D.

As an Osteopath, I am a primary health care provider with an interest in chronic pain and complex musculoskeletal issues. As a Policy Officer with AHPA, I combine my current experiences with research, analysis and writing skills from my previous work experience to develop evidence based policy for, and to advocate on behalf of, a larger group of allied health professionals (over practicing members). When working in Aged care, I use my skills to deliver patient-centred care to residents, in individual and group settings, for pain management and to improve their strength, comfort and mobility. I also strongly support the focus on resident re-ablement and recovery emphasised by the recent Royal Commission into Aged Care I feel so grateful for the opportunity to blend care and advocacy in my working life.
