About Leo Lam

I have been interested in mechanical design ever since middle school, where I joined and eventually helped lead the FLL (FIRST Lego League) robotics team. I continued to pursue robotics in high school, where I eventually become Mechanical Captain of the school's FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) team in my junior and senior years. At Georgia Tech, I joined the robotics team, RoboJackets, and am currently working on creating combat robots similar to the TV show, BattleBots. Although I have an extensive history in robotics, I hope to eventually go into mechanical product design. I often find myself at my college's invention studio, a place filled with machine tools and resources to assist in projects. Specifically, I enjoy utilizing 3D printers to quickly prototype various designs to improve everyday life or to enhance my other hobbies, such as creating a rock stop for my cello (a device cellists use to prevent the cello from slipping on the floor).
