About Leo Tan

I started off my academic life with a degree in Computer Science, but I quickly changed to a double degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science through an unintentional discovery among several discussions with my peers. I’ve always had a keen interest and passion for physics, math, and programming, so I took myself upon this opportunity, not knowing how difficult the journey will be, and was determined to see it to the end out of curiosity and passion for this emerging field. During my work experiences at Ford Motor and Matrox Imaging, I gained valuable programming industry experience in both software development and quality assurance, working in Python and C++, respectively. I’ve tested and rewrote failed automated test scripts in Python from Ford’s proprietary libraries, and I’ve designed and tested unreleased C++ test scripts for Matrox’s AGM module, even utilizing their machine learning APIs to conduct image training and prediction for future test scripts. For the near future, I am open to junior/entry level roles in software development and quality assurance, and I would like to continue to grow and learn skills towards becoming a software engineer in AI and machine learning.
