About Leo Thomas Ramos

I’m a PhD student in Computer Science at the Computer Vision Center, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain), specializing in deep learning, computer vision, and multispectral image analysis. I hold a magna cum laude degree in Information Technology Engineering, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence, from Yachay Tech University (Ecuador). I am also a Research Fellow at the University of Texas at Arlington (USA), where I co-supervise undergraduate and master's students on scientific research, and a Research Intern at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (Saudi Arabia). In parallel, I serve as a Research Engineer at Kauel Inc.(Silicon Valley, USA), contributing to the research and development of computer vision systems for the energy industry. My work has led to publications in high-level journals and international conferences. I have collaborated with multidisciplinary teams across Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas, including renowned researchers from Dubai Police, the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi, Halliburton, Saudi Aramco, Honeywell, and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. I also serve as a reviewer for several top-tier journals in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision, and have been funded by organizations such as the Air Force Office of Scientific Research. My research interests include deep learning, computer vision, multispectral imagery, medical image analysis, and remote sensing, as well as broader applications of artificial intelligence. I’ve received several scholarships and academic awards for research excellence at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I am always open to collaborations, internships, and consulting opportunities. Someday, I hope to study/work and live in North America (California would be a dream come true).
