About Leo Wong

I believe in continuously improving a business by driving Quality First initiatives through data driven decisions and process driven outcomes. I have extensive experience in supply chain management, beverage and cannabis production and packaging, product development, consumer goods distribution, and operations in regulated industries such as alcohol, cannabis, the U.S. and Canadian organic. I have developed and managed budgets, P & Ls, and KPIs focusing on both industry standard metrics and metrics unique to the company’s operations. My background in computer science gives me the ability to manipulate and analyze data to gain insight into business performance. With a background in computer science, I started work at KD Engineering in 1992 doing design and programming of air quality monitoring and demand control ventilation systems. During that time I also became familiar with network administration and ERP systems. During my years with Whitefish Group I have handled Operations and IT including wholesale, retail, logistics, production, new product development, hardware and software infrastructure, and ERP for a range of companies owned or invested into by Whitefish Group. These include a national coffee company, a beverage alcohol agency, a wholesale and retail alcohol company, and an organic beverage company. At Citizen Stash Cannabis Corp, I was a member of the executive team and was responsible for Operations and IT. I introduced processes to reduce errors, improve quality, and increase efficiency. We made dramatic increases in sales and production while strengthening our brand position in the marketplace. In November of 2021 The Valens Company acquired us, and after completing a transition of Operations I left to seek other opportunities. In my current role as VP Operations at BZAM, I oversee four cultivation and production sites across Canada as well as IT and Supply Chain. HIGHLIGHTS: • Worked for five companies that have been bought by larger companies after significant growth. • Health Canada Cannabis Act security clearance and have been approved by Health Canada as a QAP. • Managed product development in the alcohol, non-alcoholic beverage, and cannabis sectors. • Implemented continuous improvement processes in Operations resulting in fewer Incident Reports. • Have managed Organic and Cannabis regulatory audits in Canada and the U.S. • Implemented ERP systems at three companies. Experience with SAP, Dynamics 365, and NetSuite. • Strong ability to understand the best way to present data to manage KPIs and provide insight into a business.
