Leon Chang has approximately 16 years of experience in management and consulting, with an emphasis in margin improvement. Leon has directed many revenue cycle engagements of various scopes. He has helped acute care and medical group clients overcome issues ranging from uncompensated care and avoidable losses to charge integrity and reimbursement optimization. Margin improvements ranged from 1.5% to 2.5% of net patient service revenue. For clients undergoing enterprise-wide system implementation, Leon has advised on outsourcing and process automation agreements, as well as recommending pre-conversion readiness and post-conversion stabilization measures. Additionally, Leon has led complex engagements of multiple disciplines providing transformative value to clients. He has led teams of 25+ and coordinated the delivery of revenue, cost, throughput, network integrity, value-based growth, and shared services initiatives, providing counsel to the health system executives. Margin improvements ranged from 5.0% to 10.0% of NPSR. Furthermore, Leon is passionate about product innovation. During his time at Berkeley Research Group, he led the advancement of Clinical Revenue Cycle and Physician Revenue Cycle solutions, sat on the product oversight committee for Revenue Cycle DRIVE, and was a key architect in the development of Revenue Cycle Automation services. Leon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering and Economics from Northwestern University. He is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese (Putonghua).
