About Leon Dohmen

For over 30 years, I have guided medium to large organizations through digital transformation in management, project management and advisory roles. In recent years, my work has focused on Artificial Intelligence and Quantum technologies.I have advised on and led the implementation of digital solutions across a broad range of domains, including IT governance and new governance models, software development (such as interactive TV products), IT outsourcing, IT modernization, ERP, Business Intelligence and cloud-based workplaces based on Microsoft 365.My experience spans both the private and public sectors. I have worked with organizations such as Royal Imtech, Royal DSM, Royal Philips, the Ministry of Justice and Security, the Council of State, VGZ Health Insurance and Rotterdam Business School.I am convinced that digital transformation only succeeds when technological and business-driven approaches are combined with genuine attention to people. Social interaction, mutual respect and the adoption of new digital solutions are decisive factors for sustainable change.My way of working can best be described as results-driven, people-oriented, and pragmatic.My current areas of focus include- Humanity-by-Design: an integral approach to AI and digitalisation that safeguards public values and fundamental human rights- Artificial Intelligence: data science, machine learning and AI governance, with explicit attention to ethical, legal and societal implications- Data-driven project management: steering and controlling projects using scientific and evidence-based insights- Speed in IT projects: increasing delivery speed while avoiding overload of people and organizationsIn addition to my professional work, I am actively involved in the ICT community through professional associations- Association of Registered Informatics Professionals (VRI): board member, responsible for new members and continuing professional education (until December 31, 2025)- Royal Dutch Association of Information Professionals (KNVI): chair of the Interest Group Research and ICT Education- Professional Association of IT Auditors (NOREA): prospective member
