About Leon Jeckel
Undergraduate chemistry student at ETH Zurich with a focus on physical and organic chemistry, and quantum mechanics. Passionate about theory and practice alike, I have been working as a teaching assistant at the Department of Mathematics and have done a laboratory internship in the group of Prof. Alexander Barnes at the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences where I worked on a component for solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance experiments. Beyond my work with numbers and molecules, I remind myself that STEM is created, taught, and advanced by people. The work that it produces is meant to solve real-world challenges. And so one of my great interests besides learning about STEM is to teach and talk about science. The developments in STEM can affect us all, so as many people as possible should be able to engage in debating about the solutions of tomorrow. My goal is to foster my passions for STEM and education as a student, researcher, and teaching assistant to make science more accessible for all.
