About Leon Maritz

Welcome to a little story about me, thank you for joining me on the journey today. I studied computer science and I have worked as a software developer for many years. Over this time I have picked up many programming languages and expertise including web, data and application. But what got me interested in Agile is the fact that most information technology is about people and their needs. Helping people with solving their problems. I am able to help people through the difficult problem in finding the most important thing to solve first and have learnt how to build systems with a team that gets to the best solution through continuous iterating and delivering. I work well within a team, both as a team member and leader. I keep the focus on the needs of the client and the desired outcomes. I specialise in Agile software development, scrum mastering, web development and data analytics. I find it very fulfilling to coach and mentor newer developers and people new to scrum and agile. Because of my personal experience and years of involvement in the New Zealand Agile community I have built up a large toolbox of Agile techniques and tools. Kanban, Scrum, Kaizen, Lean change management, Design thinking, Test driven development, Extreme programming and many more.
