So, yes, I'm a nerd. For a long as I can remember. When I was young I sat behind a computer all day. Playing games, coding in basic. So of course, I start studing information technology at the Technische Universiteit of Eindhoven. Once home of the famous Edsger Dijkstra. During the last year of my study, my girlfriend buys me tickets for a magic show. I must have told her how I used to go to magic shows a lot when I was smaller. We have a great time, and afterwards I start talking to this guy waiting backstage for the magician. This guy turned out to be a magician himself! Then he tells me something that would change my life: “magic is like jugling. You have to practice a skill. The difference: with juggling you see the skill, with magic you don't.” I love to learn. See myself get better. And, I had to wait a lot, behind the computer. Waiting for code to compile and tests to complete. I was wasting time. So, what if I could use this time to learn a magic trick? Then I would spend this time usefull, and I would be able to make stuff vanish! So, I ordered cards, and instructions, and I was off. I practised at home, in transit, and at work. And it stuck. I liked this magic things, and I got better and better at it. And then something magical happened: my life was turning around. As I was getting deeper into this magic business, I started doing theater and drama training. Clown training. Singing, dancing, speaking. Slowly I became more social, and less nerd. I became a social nerd. I talk tech, feelings and people language. And that is real magic.
