About Leonard Davidman

I am a licensed psychologist in New York State with 50+ years of experience, as of 2022. Since 1994 I am the elected president of the labor union representing NYC's public sector Psychologists and Mental Health Counselors in the 11 public hospitals, the NYPD, Dept of Corrections, Correctional Health, Family and Criminal courts (DC37's Local 1189). Statewide in 2015 I was the president of the New York State Psychological Association. In 2021 I served as the president of the Forensic Psychology Division of NYSPA. I have served as the president of the Manhattan Psychological Association three times. I have served as the chief psychologist of a department. In the New York State Psychological Association, I have served as its president in 2015, served on its Council of Representatives and its Executive Committee. My work settings have been psychiatric hospitals, private practice and medical schools. I have been providing treatment to children, adolescents, adults and couples using both individual and group psychotherapy. I provide psychological assessments for use by agencies, psychiatrists and attorneys and for testimony in court as needed. I am on the faculty of New York Medical College teaching medical students and psychiatric residents. I am a volunteer and active in my community.
