About Leonie Richards

I am a printed textiles design specialist and colour / production specialist with 20 years experience in the UK and USA. I specialise in creating bespoke designs and product for Rugs, bedding, wallpaper, kids, fashion, swimwear, licensing, stationery and flooring. I take the lead in creating and developing range plans, trend analysis, print and pattern, product design, technical illustration, colour matching, sampling and production. Being a senior designer means I am up to date and fully fluent in CAD programs such as Adobe photoshop and Illustrator, AVA, Ned Graphics as well as a wide range of hand drawing, painting and screen printing techniques. I have worked in-house for some of the world’s best textile design studios, suppliers and brands such as Rectella, The Range, Dunelm, Next, Boden, Very, Argos, Debenhams, Matalan, Wellspun, Disney, Zara, Macy’s NY as well as catwalk retailers such as Tommy Hilfiger and Versace. From the UK’s highest regarded print studio to London and New York where I relocated to start my career with Tom Cody Design, in the heart of Manhattans fashion district. I attend and exhibit at all the major trade shows such as Maison Paris, Heimtex Germany, Indigo Paris, Mood and Surtex NYC which gives me a great change to meet customers, suppliers and to get a head start on new trends.
