About Lera Kooper

Whether it’s fellow CPA firm owners or the hard-working entrepreneurs we serve, I help others get more out of their business by teaching them how to expect more. Launching and growing a business is simply too difficult to not get what you want out of it. As a nationally recognized entrepreneur and innovator, I’m at the forefront of the accounting profession’s evolution from compliance-based services to year-round strategic guidance. Under my leadership, Accountability Services has earned top honors including 2025 INCs Best Workplaces, The Seattle Times’ 2024 People's Choice Best in the PNW and Thomson Reuters’ 2022 Firm of the Year. I regularly host or serve as a guest speaker on podcasts, expert panels, and industry summits, to share insights on modernizing the accounting profession and empowering business owners to take control of their finances. I guide business owners to tactically: Stop being the bottleneck holding your business back Understand the value in the story of your numbers (and how to use them) Look to the future and create a strategic plan to get you there Be more decisive and execute on those decisions Learn how to adapt and feel comfortable with change I show entrepreneurs that there is no “secret sauce” to success. Only sauce. And that means getting started. Consistency in execution is everything. I believe that with good accounting and the right partner, anything is possible. The credo employed in every team member of Accountability Services is to help clients get 'more'- to narrate the story of the numbers, advise on what's next, share the hard truths, celebrate the wins – and provide the empathy and encouragement to drive action. For colleagues, I help firms embrace the advisory model by sharing our story, guiding them through change management, and recommending the right tech stack/processes to develop and deliver advisory offerings. In effect, helping Firms deliver on the high standards we're teaching entrepreneurs to expect. My ability to keep moving, continually iterate, and remain tactical and forward-looking is what keeps progress consistent. I ask, “What’s next?” to ensure that the things we do today will continue to work as we scale. This approach enables us to do the same for our clients and partners.
