About Lesa Colson

I retired from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas in 2012, where I was a Theatre Arts teacher. I wrote my own material, directed, designed sets, and choreographed all dancing for my productions. While teaching dance, I taught hip-hop, polka, jitter-bug, two-step, and waltz. Each show consisted of approximately 100 students, all of whom had their own parts. In a year's time, I usually taught about 400 students. I would like to believe my students enjoyed their experience with me and they have a better appreciation of the Arts because of my class. I was also an adjunct Kinesiology instructor for Blinn College for a number of years. While I have 32 years experience with TRS, I wasn't quite ready to stop working. I substitute for College Station I.S.D, freelance some with choreography and directing, and currently work part-time in retail at Bath and Body Works. Working retail has allowed me to continue connecting with people, continue to teach as I'm teaching customers about products, and provides an opportunity to catch up with former students and other community members. Specialties: Writing, directing, choreography.
