About Lesedi Phelane

I am currently a Compliance Intern at Sanlam, supporting both the Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering teams. It’s been an insightful experience that’s allowed me to see how the law comes alive in corporate settings; where regulation, ethics, and business realities meet.I’ve always been drawn to the alternative legal sector; spaces where legal minds do more than interpret the law; they shape how it works in practice. My curiosity lies at the point where law, business, and technology overlap, and extends to areas like Compliance, Legal Tech, corporate and commercial law.At heart, I’m interested in how innovation can make legal processes more transparent, strategic, and human. Whether it’s through compliance frameworks or digital transformation, I want to be part of the shift towards a more modern and practical legal industry.Let’s connect if you’re in Compliance, Legal Tech, or Legal Corporate, or if you’re part of a team driving innovation within the legal and regulatory landscape.
