About Leslie Cernak

I’ve been involved in the downstream energy sector for most of my career. In 1987 I purchased a fuel oil sales and HVAC company, which I operated until its sale in 2018. The buyer of the company retained my services in regulatory compliance. While working full-time, I also went back to school and graduated with a master's degree in legal studies for the energy industry from OU College of Law. The combination of my operations experience and legal training gives me a comprehensive perspective to provide practical compliance and legal support for the energy industry. I am also involved with several industry associations. My specialties include contract drafting, policy handbooks, legal research, statutes and regulations, and legal support. I also have experience with facility compliance, EPA, RCRA, Tier II reporting, DOT/PHMSA, and OSHA. My industry licenses, certifications, and training include: MA Oil Burner Technician; CETP 1.0, 2.2, 2.4; Universal Refrigerant; and MA UST Operator Class A; Hazmat Level 1 Emergency Responder; Hazardous Materials Waste Site Activities; NEFI Service Management; Lead Safe Renovator-Supervisor; and Highland Tank Cathodic Protection and Underground Tank Installation. At some point in time, my work became my passion. I enjoy what I do. A key element of that fulfillment is the belief that I make a positive difference.
