About Leslie Dippel

Leslie is the Executive County Attorney of the Travis County Attorney's Office. She oversees all of the civil divisions in the office both litigation and transactional. Leslie oversees all cases filed by or against Travis County and its employees in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate court level. Leslie has gained significant first chair trial experience, including jury trials, administrative hearings, and appeals before the Fifth Circuit and Third Court of Appeals. Leslie also provides legal counsel to the Commissioners Court and other County elected and appointed officials on general liability issues prior to and related to litigation. Leslie's practice has always emphasized employment law. She has represented employers in all areas of employment law including litigation of non-competition agreements, wrongful termination, discrimination and retaliation claims, FMLA issues, and FLSA wage & hour disputes. Leslie also has significant experience in drafting employment agreements, employee handbooks and human resources policies and procedures. Leslie's practice has expanded during her career at the Travis County Attorney's Office. She has gained significant experience in the unique aspects of management as a public governmental employer such as sovereign immunity, the Texas Whistleblower Act, due process, constitutional law, the Texas Public Information Act, and the Texas Open Meetings Act. As a member of the leadership in the office Leslie helps create and administer a large budget, drafts and implements office-wide policy, and supports the mission and policy goals of the Travis County Attorney.
