About Leslie M. Vesely
With a background in social anthropology and couple and family therapy, my lifelong career goal is to integrate social anthropology and psychotherapy in multiple ways - through taking a client centered, social justice and strengths based approach to psychotherapy, and through working with non-profits and academic hospitals to produce research that is practical and relevant. Ultimaltely, I want to help facilitate change on an individual and systemic level. I am driven by compassion and critical thinking. I acknowledge the importance of context, and enjoy naming and challenging taken-for-granted ideas and beliefs. This drive also offers me the space to reflect on where I come from and how that shapes who I am and how I connect with others. I am grateful for my journey thus far and the amazing people who helped me realize what is important to me. I look forward to what the future holds.
