About Leslie McClellan

I am a Board-Certified General Surgeon and trailblazer as the first female in my field to practice in my community’s hospitals. Moreover, I am a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery with over 25 years of clinical and leadership experience. Furthermore, I have served in key roles including the Chief of Surgery and Chief of Bariatric Surgery at major health systems in Illinois. As a team leader, I work and collaborate well with colleagues, executive board members, staff and patients. I bring a unique perspective and innovative vision for the state of healthcare now and in the future. I am a forward-thinking evaluator and analyzer and I also understand the past. In my personal life, I am a mother of three and the wife of an orthopedic surgeon. I am a third family generation doctor, second generation General Surgeon but first female physician in the family. I have fun downhill skiing, enjoy gym work outs for stress release and traveling. I also manage my daughter’s rock band and sing backup vocals in my husband’s jazz band.
