About Leslie Serna

I am a Mexican American from Chicago, Illinois and I have just completed receiving my Bachelor's in Arts Degree in Psychological Science and a minor in Chicanx/Latinx Studies from Pomona College in Claremont, California. At the moment, I will be studying in Loyola University Chicago, on the track of obtaining my Master's Degree in Social Work in 2026. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a strong passion for Forensic Psychology, which focuses on the practice of psychology applied to the law, which includes research on various psychology-law topics, such as jury selection, systemic racism in criminal law, eyewitness testimony, and juvenile delinquency. I am passionate about fostering inclusive communities and empowering individuals to reach their full potential. I have served as the Head Mentor for the First-Generation and/or Low-Income (FLI) Mentorship Program at Pomona College, where I was dedicated to providing guidance, support, and resources to students navigating similar backgrounds. With a strong commitment to mentorship and advocacy, I strive to create a supportive environment where FLI students can thrive academically, professionally, and personally. With a combination of my academic background in psychology, my commitment to the Latinx community, and my growing expertise in finance, I am poised to make a significant impact in any career I become involved with. I am driven to create opportunities and inspire others to recognize their potential for success.
