About Leslie Surtees

I am currently working on renewable energy projects on Vancouver Island as a Project Manager with Hakai Energy Solutions. I am an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years’ experience managing large-scale wind and solar projects in Canada. Expert in electrical collector systems, project management, and data analysis. A proven leader in safety and team development. Eager to contribute to Bilbao’s renewable energy sector and drive sustainable innovation. I previously worked with Borea Construction as an Electrical Engineer and Site Coordinator where I managed a team to install and construct just under 1 GW of industrial scale wind and solar farms in Southern Alberta. I have my Masters in Electrical Engineering at the University of Calgary where I gained the knowledge that allowed me to provide value in the renewable energy sector. I previously graduated from the UofC’s School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Computer Engineering. My coding background has helped me tackle tasks with automation and enhancement in mind. This gives me and my team more time to tackle challenging and important tasks, as well as helps to eliminate potential human error. I Love Life
