About Leticia Lopez

I’m an anti-racist scholar and educator based in Washington State. My mission is to facilitate an understanding of race and racism through honest and frank conversations. In my various roles, I work to move the idea of equity in education from a goal to reality. As you can see from much of my work experience below, I have a long history of partnering with action-orientated organizations and educators to create classroom environments that are inclusive and equitable for all learners. I am a dedicated, solutions-oriented and collaborative higher education leader with extensive leadership and project management experience, including leading or co-leading campus-wide, district-wide, and state-wide change initiatives (Accelerated English Pathways Initiative, Directed Self-Placement Equity Initiative, and SBCTC’s Composing ENGL & 101, Antiracist Writing Assessment Ecology Grant, Antiracist Curriculum Initiative) to increase student success rates and eliminate achievement gaps. Demonstrated ability to establish relationships and work effective with campus stakeholders and partners. Routinely elected to leadership roles by my peers and recognized for being an effective communicator, listener, decision maker and consensus builder. Had led or facilitated a variety of workshops at the campus, state, and national level.
