About Letwin Mugasa

I am a self-driven young lady who thrives for excellence and bettering myself. I am not scared to take risks and learn from it. I have acquired variety of skills by working in healthcare and customer service settings throughout the previous years. I believe I work well under pressure, can work autonomously and work within a team. I understand the importance of providing person-centred care as well as equality and diversity. I also understand the importance of communication among multidisciplinary teams, patients, and relatives. All these skills when well incorporated will allow safe care delivery to service users. My desire to join health industry started in 2019 when I got injured during tourism and hospitality attachment. I admired everything that was happening around me including the love and care delivered to me, but because I was already studying, I decided to volunteer and work at a clinic to give back to the community. Unfortunately, I couldn’t continue volunteering as an opportunity raised at Qatar airways and I had to relocate. Soon after relocating I worked for 4 months before covid broke out and planes were grounded. The experience from Qatar airways has helped me improve my communication skills, team working and time management. We were given ultimatum either to go back home or stay and look for another sponsorship and I was lucky enough to secure job as administrative assistant and be a private carer, where I cared for an elderly woman during my weekends. Eventually I realised I wasn’t enjoying customer service as much and wanted to get into healthcare full time. I researched and came across Alison training company and obtained a care giving diploma moved over to United Kingdom. This shows how resilient and determined I am to endeavour in anything I enjoy doing.I believe I am a good candidate for this position based on my experience which has offered exposure and equipped me with different skills. I know how to keep a level head during emergencies which happens quite frequently especially when dealing with elderly patients especially in cases of falls. I am a dedicated team player with a positive attitude that will enable me to achieve business goals and to use my education and experience to improve organizational efficiency and customer relationships with top-rated customer service.I keep myself updated with what is happening in the health field and other nursing aspects by talking to colleague around that subject, listening to the news, reading guidelines and articles. I also read novels and books to improve my literacy skills.
