About Leva Shaeri

I am a Program Coordinator at Hopelink utilizing various computer systems to assist with different programs. Previously, I worked as a Certified Behavior Technician working with children who have autism, utilizing ABA principles to affect meaningful changes in the lives of children. I have spent the last eight years involved in part-time service as a volunteer, and decided to dedicate a year of full-time service to collaborate with local community members in my neighborhood, to strengthen and build ties of mutual support and empower local youth to take charge of their intellectual, individual, spiritual, and material growth, while contributing to their local community. Furthermore, I have worked with community partners to discuss practical ways in which we can visualize what our community is in need of, and how we can contribute and collaborate with local organizations to bring about these changes. This meaningful work has guided my career aspirations of working with families to provide resources and support to hardships they may be facing in their lives. Previously, I was an Intern with LifeWire, focusing on providing resources and support to survivors of domestic violence. My role as a helpline advocate, and helping with the inventory and replenishing of stock needed from their partner companies for survivors, helped mold my understanding of the company and fueling the drive to pursue a career in Domestic Violence and ending homelessness. The values and skills I gained while being an intern helped shape the experience of teamwork, mutual collaboration, and importance of contributing to our communities. Overall, my passion to contribute and create effective change in my community drives my desire to pursue a professional career in these respective fields.
