About Levan Asatiani

During my studies at New York University Abu Dhabi, I developed a passion for designing new devices as well as optimizing existing ones. In fact, I learned that I really enjoy being given an existing device or system, dissecting it, and trying to make it work as efficiently as possible. I have taken courses that specifically taught me how to prototype new ideas, manage and use programming software to effectively enhance my project. Outside the university environment, I have experience working in teams in high pressure environments, during inventor’s competitions in my home country of Georgia such as the Leonardo Da Vinci inventor’s competition as well as in the UAE’s Innovator competition. These competitions tested the speed of my work, as well as my ability to troubleshoot and present work at a moment’s notice. I have also worked on two research projects. In the first one I designing and tested methodologies for a large-scale bio-mechanical experiment and performed data analysis using MATLAB. In the second one, I worked to identify and develop a MEMS (micro electro-mechanical systems) device manufacturing method, using cheaper and more efficient methodologies rather than the cumbersome methods currently in use.
