About Lewis Sims

I have worked within the Wilko Logistics supply chain for 9 years, covering a range of various managerial roles and responsibilities. I currently manage Health & Safety for the South Wales Distribution Centre as part of the onsite senior leadership team. My site is approximately 1 million square foot and currently employs around 750 Team Members. I'm currently also the Health & Safety Lead for a multimillion pound construction project, managing all aspects of CDM, raising impairment notices, conducting risk assessments and audits, dealing with contractors, managing the risk profile for each phase of the project and ensuring compliance with the relevant legislation My role is to manage the risk profile of the site, implement processes and procedures to ensure compliance with current legislation, advise senior business leaders by offering expert advice and information, and to drive cultural change through continuous improvement, root cause and behavioural analysis and frequent engagement with all key stakeholders. My exposure to the wider corporate world has allowed me develop working relationships with the core workforce Team Members, low, medium and high level executives through to leaders at directorship level. I also maintain a positive and professional relationship with members of local enforcement authorities and colleagues that have progressed from a similar background. I'm constantly looking to further my already extensive understanding of Health and Safety and environmental management through experience, sharing views and undertaking qualifications relevant to broaden my skillset.
