About Leya Seke

One of my earliest and favourite memories, was seeing colour. the deep, burgundy red nail polish my mother would use to paint her nails. The vibrant patterns and array of textures she chose to wear; leather, wool and tweed to name a few. Not that she would ever deny the chance of mixing and matching fabrics. You see, my mother wore what she felt reflected her best, she didn't care if she mixed stripes with houndstooth, rose gold with rustic silver. You name it! I do not have a favourite colour, however from a very young age the colour purple has resonated with me deeply. All shades and hues, it speaks to me, as if I am being called by it.(Hence my design,'LilacToPurple). To me, it's a symbolism of growth and progression. It is only I understand my love for drawing comes from my fascination of colours. My need to express through clothing but having to work with what little money I had. I feel my most authentic self when I am designing, drawing. creating And so, here my journey begins, one that requires the ability to learn, solve problems, be open-minded most importantly to learn from previous failures to head towards my goal. My experiences in life as well my career steer me towards people who see my vision, and so my vision becomes OURS.
