About Leyla Jackson

A legal, fiduciary and financial services professional with a broad background of experience which includes working for a global Class A bank, a large global financial and fiduciary services firm, the public sector, an offshore boutique law firm and providing directorship services. Well versed in the Cayman Islands' financial services industry and its regulatory environment, I am a Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) member/TEP, hold Masters level qualifications in Law, Legal Practice and Post-Compulsory Education/Teaching and have served as a lecturer on the Cayman Islands Financial Services Institute's practical diploma programme. As a former Senior Lecturer in Law of ten years standing, I have published in a number of international legal journals and collaborated with the Cayman Islands Government with respect to draft legislation, special projects and tribunal assistance. I possess excellent presentation, communication, problem solving and research skills, in addition to a client-centric focus. Awarded Scotiabank's Best of the Best - Top Individual Performance Award 2021, Best of the Best - Culture Catalyst 2022 and STEP Global Student of the Year. I am a Leadership Cayman graduate and also have extensive experience volunteering as a sports administration professional. Previously roles include being one of the only female Presidents of a national Boxing Association, Executive Committee Member of the American Boxing Confederation, Executive Member of the Caribbean Steering Committee for Boxing and Executive Committee of the Cayman Islands Olympic Committee. I am also an internationally certified boxing technical official and have served as Team Manager at two successive Commonwealth Games.
