About Lezel Roddeck

My research bridges the intersection of AI governance, education, and compliance, contributing to EU-level policy initiatives at the European Digital Education Hub. I collaborate with diverse teams to align educational AI systems with regulatory frameworks, focusing on ethics, transparency, and data protection. Recognized for my expertise, I recently earned the Paul Maharg Legal Education Prize (BILETA 2025) for my work on explainable AI in education. My mission is to support the responsible integration of emerging technologies into legal and educational systems. Management: As the Academic Programme Director at Bucerius Law School for 10+ years, I oversee the strategic and operational delivery of 50+ courses annually. My work focuses on advancing legal education through innovative curriculum design, digital transformation, and promoting multilingual legal communication skills in English, French, and Spanish, as well as intercultural communication skills in Chinese Mandarin and Arabic. Teaching: My teaching portfolio including lecturing course on Ethics & AI Governance (Master’s Level), Anglo-American law (legal method), Contract Law, Intellectual Property, and Legal Writing. I mentor and coach students in mooting, negotiation, and mediation.
