About Liam Braithwaite

My experience began at college where I followed my desire in film and began a Film & TV Btec course which spanned over two years. During college there was a company working within the creative studios building called 'SpringBoard TV'. They provided a lot of work experience for students, and I was able to be involved in several projects. I helped them film multiple productions and even collaborated with them alongside a museum where I volunteered for around a year. I ran the filming and edit side of the production with the workers of the museum and other college students to create promotional pieces for a monument in Kings Lynn. Editing projects in college is where I fully felt like I was able to work at a high level even though I had not had a lot of practice of the editing software. It felt natural editing different forms of media and with each project my skill level increased. I left college achieving a Distinction for my overall grade of the final year. This assisted me in applying for university. At university I wanted to extend my knowledge in both cinematography and editing in higher education. I put myself forward as DoP and Editor for certain short films and documentaries. I was able to take on an editing module during my second year and I achieved a 1st on the editing project itself. It filled me with confidence and showed me I have an eye for editing. There is still an aim to train myself on multiple software's to become a more transferable and efficient editor. After University I want to be able to develop my skills in the editorial department and begin taking my first steps into the film industry.
