I am a high-performing commercial leader with a proven track record of over-delivering against revenue targets. My recent experience at Acast was my senior and diverse role. I was tasked with building out the Australian and New Zealand commercial team, in-market sales narrative and deliver revenue outcomes. Although we were a global business, we ran the local team like a start-up as we had to build it all and learn along the way. The first major task was building out a commercial team, we went from two to 13 people in six months based out of Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand – the additional challenge was doing this through Covid. To succeed in Australia, we had to outperform much larger, well-resourced, established competitors. To do that we had to think, act and do everything differently. This started with the sales team, and it's where we created a sales team mantra that everyone held themselves accountable to – Noise. Energy. Colour. Noise - champion all aspects of podcasting. Energy - be passionate and educational with our sell. Colour - stand out and be remembered. Underpinning our success was our distinctively Acast sales narrative and collateral. We created it all with real-purpose and specifically based on clients challenges/hestitations when it came to podcast advertising. We wanted every client leaving a meeting more educated on the podcasting, excited by our offering, and confident in our business/sales team. Which we always achieved. All this work lead to amazing revenue results for the business - where my team reached nine out of 10 quarterly revenue targets.
