Hi, my name is Liam and I am a driving instructor. I own and run Driving-Pro which trades in Portsmouth, Gosport and the surrounding areas. We have a highly regarded team of both male and female instructors. In a lot of ways we are like a big family. We even have a father and son-in-law working with us. In terms of reviews over the channels that we wish to be reviewed on, we are the best in the area. I started Driving-Pro back in 2015 with Doug Drinkwater. We were joined in 2016 by Glen Robbins and have been expanding ever since. As a company that does training we offer a lot of training to our instructors. Sometimes this is the preparation for and the taking of advanced driving tests. But if a course is relevant and the instructor wants it, I will make it happen. If you look up my profile on the Driving-pro.com website you will see that I am a fan of personal training myself. I have a view that every day is a school day and we should all be open to more learning. With my pupils I want to learn something from them. It might be a turn of phrase or a way of looking at the world. Sometimes it can be a book to read or a film to watch. The idea of learning from the pupils is important. None of the Driving-Pro pupils ever make mistakes in the car. All that they do is explore possibilities on a learning curve. Because of that we never expect to hear an apology. There are never any stupid questions asked because if you do not know anything ASK. You might get a stupid answer, but we welcome the questions. Anything a instructor does in the car, is out in the open and we want people to know. Anything pupil does in the car is confidential. We are fully compliant with the GDPR and remove records after 2 years. The well being of our pupils is important so we have a Confidential Listening and Safeguarding Officer, my wife. The only time we had a call regarding that, she disappeared into the backroom. It turned out it was something that I could have dealt with directly. But the important thing was that she was there for them. Our support to the instructors is first class. With the trainee's and new instructors I take time out to make sure that they know what areas and routines involved. Our reputation is strong both collectively and individually. I like to write for the trade press and get published regularly. In addition I try to support the industry in general by being on the committee of both The Southern Driving Instructors Association and The Approved Driving Instructor National Joint Council.
