About Liam Hitchener

Currently studying a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a major in mining engineering. Since a young age I have worked in various industries to gain a wide set of skills and experience. Throughout school I worked as a crew trainer at my local McDonald's restaurant, which taught me strong values of communication and leadership in the work place. This also built foundation of a strong work life balance through ensuring I kept high standards of work as well as school. During my final year of school I was elected as School Captain of St Joesph's School in Stanthorpe. This was a very rewarding role for myself which further enhanced my values of leadership and responsibility. During highschool I developed a love for design and technology which resulted in my enrolment into a Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Queensland. I began this degree following a gap year where I worked on multiple farms in Stanthorpe which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have also worked as a gardener/landscaper during my first few years studying and am currently working as an undergraduate mechanical engineer for South 32 on their Cannington Mine site in McKinlay Queensland.
