About Liam McAuliffe

I am a newly appointed Pensions Officer for West Midlands Police (please see job history). Previously, I was an Accounts Receivable- Service Delivery Manager, within the wider Finance department. My role consisted of driving day to day performance of the Income Purchase to Pay Team. I was responsible for the effective performance of a team of credit controllers, the recoup of monies, and a multitude of tasks related to the receiving and issuing of BACS/cash/cheques. All aspects of the role required a keen attention to detail and an ability to read, disseminate and report accurately on all aspects of monies received, all whilst following strict organisation and legal requirements, to rigid time scales – these included Service Level Agreements, weekly/monthly auditing and month and year end tasking/close down. In my roles, I am trusted to adhere to all procedures/frameworks employed by WMP. Audited both internally and externally, it is important to spend time ensuring correct policy is followed and preach quality over quantity when accessing work. The job entails continuity of BAU as well as the ability to collaborate with the team and senior managers to ensure any additional tasking/project work is managed both individually and by working with and through the team. To this end, I can work autonomously, but am also keen to ensure I am always part of the team and achieve line manager and WMP objectives. I am a regular user of WMP systems, banking interfaces and Microsoft packages (such as Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook) and I managed/action’d the internal portals, email accounts and duty management packages. I am very much a “hands on”, learn on the job, person. To this end, when I don’t know how to use a particular part of a system, I will seek the answer via more skilled colleagues, user guides, YouTube tutorials or Google searches – much of my knowledge has come via self-learning. I am hard working, detail orientated and a committed WMP colleague. I believe the skills and attributes learnt in my current and previous positions will aid in adapting to many working environments. I am eager and excited to face the opportunities that different roles can provide and look forward to taking positive steps within my career.
