Several years engineering experience working in the sheet metal fabrication sector. Responsible for managing the programming requirements (CAD / CAM) for key customers. Also responsible for metrology inspections in the Polyworks package and delivering an internal training program to grow the team due to increased demands. Working closely with manual and automated manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, press brake forming, CNC machining and robotic welding. Responsibilities include: CAD Design (Solidworks /AutoCAD) Jig / Fixture Design, Engineering Designs, Project Management, CNC Programming (Laser Cutting). Inspection (Faro Arm - Polyworks), New Product Introduction (NPI), IRCA Certified Internal Auditor. I recently completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Manufacturing and Production Engineering at the University of Derby achieving a first class honours degree. For my final year project I combined Design For Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) tools with a life cycle analysis (LCA) to redesign a product for the security sector. This is redesign has now been approved for manufacture. Prior to this I spent 3 years studying on a work based degree to help develop my current position working at AET. Whilst studying my Foundation degree I received the Dean’s Award for academic progression and excellence. Additionally my final year project analysed the make or buy decision for a critical machined component, followed by project managing the design and manufacture of a machining fixture. For this work I received the ImechE award for best project on my degree programme.
