About Liam Montgomery

Hello! I am a highly motivated and creative person - I always try to challenge myself in new ways. I've had to overcome adversity, and it's driven me to be the best person I can be. I am timely and always make it my goal to meet deadlines. During my professional internship writing for the Madison Daily Leader, I tried to go above and beyond with each one of my stories - I put substantial time into researching and learning as much about my interview subjects as possible. I also tried to be as creative and engaging as I could with my writing (within the bounds of news writing), because I believe that readers/viewers best understand things when they are engaged and entertained. I have a love for video and I am very competent when it comes to editing and shooting. I have experience creating and putting on a live television show from setting up the studio to operating cameras, control room equipment and solving technical issues. I also have an affinity for social media strategies. I created a social media engagement plan for my university's independent newspaper that was focused around alumni engagement and acquisition. Overall, I believe I have a very balanced work experience background and that I have skills and knowledge that would benefit many employers.
