About Liam Oconnell

I am a self-motivated individual who is hardworking and keen on taking on new challenges, always working to the best of my ability whether this be working alone or as part of a team. I am adapted my life experiences within different roles within my career, to move into the role of Inventory control supervisor. which allows me to work and experience different work environments within Canada, from sites on the prairies to site underground in potash mines. I served in the British Army, Infantry division, whilst serving as a rifleman I gained many skills and knowledge which henceforth I have adapted in all my job roles I have undertaken since retiring from the army. I take great pride in upholding and demonstrating the core values of the British Army, which consist of Courage, Discipline, Respect for others, Integrity, Loyalty and Selfless commitment. During this time, I have also gained the respect of my colleagues and peers and have been commended the position of Acting Lance Corporal many times, this opportunity helped me in enhancing my leadership skills. I also have good listening and effective communication skills which play a part in reaching personal and work targets, this also assists me in encouraging and motivating my colleagues to play their part on the task at hand. My colleagues are aware I am always willing to help if needs be. Over the years my problem solving, organization and planning techniques have been highly enhanced from current and past jobs. I am trained and highly competent in a large variety of equipment such as high power water jetting units and electrical coring machinery such as Picote mini miller up to Picote maxi miller power+, the spartan 700,100,300 etc. I’m also highly competent in using a variety of excavation equipment suck as skid-steer loaders (bobcats), excavators, dump trucks etc. I also have extensive knowledge of using patch repair/ lining equipment and CCTV surveying equipment from scan probe to minicam.
