About Liam Oreilly

Currently I research electric ecology, a burgeoning field of sensory and environmental ecology investigating the role of electricity in biology from an organismal to ecosystem level - did you know bee swarms can electrify their local atmosphere? My academic background is in sensory biology and biophysics, providing me with a vast experience of integrating physical and biological experimental design and analysis, as well as working in interdisciplinary teams with biologists, physicists, mathematicians, engineers, and the media. Additionally, I have taught and supervised students for the past seven years up to and including masters level, and have regularly engaged with the public through outreach events and the media.
