About Liam Thompson

I joined Elastic in January 2022 as a technical writer in the Enterprise Search team. I was an independent writer for over 5 years, based in Paris, and traveling throughout Europe. I built the logline.fr website and became increasingly interested in software documentation / technical communication projects. In addition to basic web development knowledge, I am an entry-level Python programmer, and I use MarkDown and GitHub for my writing workflow. I am pretty fluent in the command line. I worked regularly in collaboration with UBIQUS as a writer. I worked across a wide swathe of activities and organizations, with emphasis on documentation in the high-tech, scientific and financial fields. Notable collaborators included CNRS, Dassault Systèmes, Ledger, and Air Liquide. I also documented scientific conferences, medical and technical subjects, and am well-versed in universal business concepts. I taught English literature, part-time, over three years at Paris 3: La Sorbonne Nouvelle from 2011-2014. As well as preparing lectures, evaluating written work and classroom teaching, I worked on distance learning courses.
