About Liat Shapiro

Liat Shapiro currently works as a senior faculty assistant for the Technology & Operations Management Unit at Harvard Business School. She holds a Military Psychology MA (Adler University) & Linguistics BA (UMass Amherst). She has held a variety of nonprofit leadership positions over the past several years ranging from outreach to program to development director and serves in volunteer advisory roles for Boston-based Veteran-led/serving nonprofits. Giving back to service members remains one of her highest priorities. In March 2022, she co-founded The Driven Ones, a nonprofit designed to act as a global supply chain that brought humanitarian aid to Ukrainian civilians and soldiers. TDO operated in-theatre from March '22 to Dec '23 and, while operational, conducted over 30 missions across the Romanian-Ukrainian border, raising over $40K of grassroots support. In her role as co-founder, Liat led the org's fundraising strategy and mission logistics. Outside of her 9-5 and nonprofit volunteering, she prioritizes her faith and loved ones. She's a dog mama to a 2-yr old English Shepherd, runs a secondhand clothing small business with a natural fabric & affordable sustainability focus, and enjoys home Pilates workouts and playing piano.
