About Libby Novotny

Currently, I am a teaching assistant for FINA 4422: Financial Modeling at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. The position lets me share my knowledge about building useful financial models and sensitivity analyses to make well-informed decisions. I work with a diverse group of students, so I have developed a flexible approach for communicating Excel techniques, strategies to make logical assumptions, and calculations of risk, firm value, and invested capital. In addition to finance, I am interested in sustainability. I completed a study abroad program in January 2023, learning about sustainability and corporate social responsibility in Costa Rica. Now, I am taking a few courses related to renewable energy. I also worked on an honors thesis to evaluate the effectiveness of diversity, equity, and inclusion training in reducing an individual's tendency to make a racial microaggression. After I graduate in May 2023, I would love to combine these two interests and find a full-time position that blends finance with sustainability!
