About Liina Junna

I am a Lecturer at the University of Helsinki, as well as involved with the Helsinki Institute for Demography & Population Health and the Life course and economic implications of demographic change -project (LIFECON: My current work revolves around socioeconomic differences in morbidity and mortality, in particular as related to employment and income. I'm also interested in individual health effects and labour market scarring related to workplace downsizing and closure. I have years of experience related to both working with Finnish register data. I also participate in managing the study permits for the Helsinki Institute for Demography & Population Health and The Max Planck – University of Helsinki Center for Social Inequalities in Population Health (MaxHel Center). Oddly enough, my background is in theatrical and film costuming and make-up. From 2004 to 2014, I was a self-employed odd-job girl with projects ranging from feature-length films to advertising and theatre productions. I am looking to connect with others early career researchers interested in similar topics, Finnish register data or longitudinal quantitative methods.
