About Lillian Thakuria

Lillian Thakuria is an actress, comedian, host and award-winning writer-producer. Her one-woman show, ‘Dot, Not Feather' premiered at The PIT's SOLOCom Comedy Festival in 2016. She has performed at The Upright Citizens Brigade, The People's Improv Theater, The Magnet Training Center. She defies stereotypes and perpetuates them at the same time. Terrible math student, even more terrible driver. At HBO, she wrote and produced short and long-form original, branded content for broadcast and digital platforms. Her 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver' season 2 campaign earned her a CLIO Award in 2015. As an entertainment journalist, she interviewed celebrities such as Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis, Drew Barrymore, Sandra Bullock, Matt Damon, John Oliver and many more. In 2008, she hosted a political travel web series for the U.S. State Department website America.gov, which allowed her to travel around the country and interview some very interesting characters about the 2008 presidential election. Her work has appeared in The Huffington Post, Entertainment Weekly, Vulture, Variety, NBC and USA Today. She was featured in an issue of GLAMOUR MAGAZINE that contained intimate details about the status of her love life. Yikes! She is FILIPINO, SPANISH, INDIAN and a little bit 'country'(her great grandfather is a white dude from Tennessee). She has been labeled ‘ethnically ambiguous’ and is unsure how to feel about it. She has a weakness for NPR, Law & Order, cheeseburgers and shoes. She is an excellent storyteller (in front and behind the camera) and thinks well on her feet-or on her butt, if she's seated.
