About Lillian Tompkins

Growing up in Portland, Oregon I am no stranger to the creative world. After attending Rachel Carson Environmental Middle School, my eyes were opened to ideas of sustainability and environmentalism. I have been fortunate enough to do quite a bit of traveling throughout my life so far as well, and those experiences exposed me to diverse world architecture which all kickstarted my passion for sustainable architecture. This led me to continue my education at the University of Oregon majoring in architecture and minoring in environmental studies. I am very intrigued by the possibilities of sustainable architecture, including but not limited to, alternative construction systems and materials, rainwater harvesting, greywater reuse, stormwater management, passive heating and cooling systems, photovoltaics, permaculture and minimizing waste. I am interested in a wide range of building typologies and integrating sustainable systems with design. I look forward to continuing these explorations throughout the rest of my education and into my career.
