About Lilly Capetillo

I am a proud graduate of the University of North Texas, holding a B.S. in Integrative Studies with a focus on Human Development and Family Sciences, Sociology, and Business Management. My higher education journey began at Tyler Junior College, where I studied for two years and was an active member of the Internationally Famous Tyler Junior College Apache Belles. After completing my time at TJC, I transferred to UNT, where I joined the North Texas Dancers and remained a member for two years. Throughout my college career, I was committed to being both a student and an athlete, serving as an ambassador for my school and community. I had the privilege of working closely with both teams and engaging in meaningful collaborations with my institution and local community. These experiences provided me with incredible opportunities to travel the world and compete at the national level, proudly representing my school and organizations. During my time as a college student, I worked as both a dance teacher and a preschool creative arts instructor. I dedicated my spare time to teaching children ranging from 3 to 18 years old, sharing my passion for dance while fostering their mental, physical, and emotional growth. Throughout my career, I have taught across North and East Texas, choreographing for schools and studios. Once joining Tyler Junior College, I became the Graduate Assistant for the Apache Belles, where I had the opportunity to teach and mentor students aged 18 to 21. This role allowed me to continue learning and growing as both a choreographer and educator, while working with a more mature group of dancers. I have now been working with the Apache Belles for three years and currently serve as the Interim Artistic Director/Choreographer.
