About Lily Brady

After spending 10 months working at Newmont Boddington in processing as a Process technician I made the decision to pursue a career in Metallurgy from an engineering perspective.Being onsite at Newmont Boddington gave me the chance to see how large scale processing plants run, and I really learnt the importance of safety and production in this time period. I am currently studying chemical and metallurgical engineering (hons) at Murdoch. To assist in my journey I have undertaken project/vacation work in the metallurgical lab at Newmont Boddington providing me with the experience surrounding flotation test work and data entry and recording, as well as plant and lab procedures and the safety aspects surrounding the test work and procedures. I was also fortunate enough to win the WA mining club scholarship for metallurgy in 2018. This has given me the opportunity to continue to pursue my career and experience FIFO through vacation work. During my summer experience at the pilgangoorna operation I had the opportunity to lead my team through establishing a flotation regime for test work, I had an amazing hands on experience working in the lab, as well as experience surrounding plant operations and procedures and test work based on plant production and plant performance.
