Moving from Auburn, Alabama to the nation's capital, I bring along the cherished values of southern hospitality.Growing up in Auburn, I was immersed in a community known for its warmth and emphasis on hospitality, which has profoundly influenced my journey. While attending Auburn University, I explored the intersections of Hospitality and Sustainability, recognizing their vital roles in shaping the future of our industry and planet.With nearly ten years of experience in customer-facing roles within the Food & Beverage sector, I've seen firsthand the significant impact of sustainability-focused practices. My path led me to Washington DC, where I pursued a Master's degree and discovered a newfound passion for the tourism industry. Here, I've had the privilege of contributing to international nature-based and community-based tourism projects, where sustainability isn't just a consideration—it's the guiding principle behind every decision.I'm excited to announce my recent position at NatureScapes, a remarkable company specializing in nature tourism destination development. Working with the team, I look forward to engaging in new projects that prioritize innovative & sustainable tourism practices, community involvement, an appreciation of our natural environment, and utilizing tourism as an incentive for conservation.As I near completion of a Graduate Certificate in Global Sustainability from Virginia Tech, my dedication to advocating for sustainability within the tourism sector has only grown stronger.
