About Lily Phan

I lead the Intelligent Automation and Future of Work research for IDC Asia Pacific. In this role, I focus on research publications and custom solutions that cover the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation technologies to enhance and streamline business processes and improve employees' productivity. I provide tech market insights to tech vendors and tech buyers, keep track of technology trends and adoption, provide commentaries for news and media, engage with vendors through analyst events and tech roadshows, and speak at IDC's flagship events and clients' events. Before joining IDC, I was a quantitative sociologist with expertise in workforce risks, management research, C-suite leadership training, and higher education. I had extensive professional experience as a researcher and lecturer at Nanyang Technological University, Marsh McLennan Companies, and the Human Capital Leadership Institute. I also undertook advisory roles for the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and the Singapore Business Federation on various research studies. I hold a PhD in Sociology from the University of Sydney and have been publishing and presenting extensively on diverse topics. Meeting and working with people from all over the world has helped me to gain insightful awareness about myself and others.
